Bad Axe Throwing is opening a location this fall in New Rochelle where you can enjoy beer and wine, and become part of a competitive globally recognized axe throwing organization, the World Axe Throwing League.
Axe-throwing is a popular backyard pass time in Canada where the company originated in 2014. There are more than 40 locations in the United States.
The new location is the first in Westchester and second in New York which has one in Rochester.
The planned opening will be late September, early October, said company spokesperson Blake Bottrill said.
"People love axe throwing. It's a very social and new sport. Many competitors from other (locations) competed in the World Championship on ESPN last year, where one of our employees actually won the World Championship,"
"It’s for people of all ages and we have kids as young as eight-years-old celebrating birthdays with us. It’s completely safe and we’ve had over 500,000 customers and not a single injury (besides splinters or some touching the ax to see if it’s sharp after we tell them not to."
In addition to competitive leagues, birthday parties, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and corporate and team-building events will be offered.
Bad Ax Throwing will be located at 33 Lecount Pl., New Rochelle.
